The Dev-D Syndrome is Chandraprakash Mohata’s attempt at narrating his version of the great Indian love saga, with a little more spice and his quintessential desi tadka. He adds his own twists which keep the readers gripped right till the last page. The story takes you through the eventful journey of a young college boy, Devendra Rai’s life from the day he sets foot in the IMS campus leaving behind his comfortable shelter brimming with mum’s love and daddy’s care. The book makes you witness all the jovial and frolic filled moments that every college kid experiences with his buddies; the nonchalance, the boredom of classes, the mishaps, the petty fights, the crushes and yes, that special something called love…grab a copy of the novel to know how emotions can take over human beings and consume their existences whole, burning down trust and making people come face to face with the bitter facts of life. A must read if you wish to know who plays Devdas and what finally results into the Dev-D Syndrome.
